Pine Swamp Place: gifts and handcrafted solid wood furniture
Pine Swamp Place began as a small gift shop in Cumberland, RI, built around one idea: the best gifts bring a smile and become part of someone’s home. Wooden jigsaw puzzles and carved sculptures were always our best sellers, so it felt natural to grow into the biggest wooden gift of all – handcrafted solid wood furniture.
Today our shop has two sides. You will still find the wooden jigsaw puzzles, snow globes, sculptures and thoughtful gifts that started it all, and alongside them a growing collection of live-edge shelves and tables, sculptural consoles, benches, record stands, headboards and carved wood wall art.
Why solid wood
We look for pieces with character you will not find in a big-box store. Every table, shelf and bench in our wood collection is cut from solid hardwood and shaped by hand, so the grain, knots and edges are unique to your piece. It is furniture made to be lived with, and someday passed on.
How a wood furniture order works
- Cut and carve (7-10 days). Each piece is handcrafted to order by our partner artisan workshops in Vietnam and China. Craftsmen select the boards and shape your piece by hand.
- Photo approval. Before any finish goes on, we email photos of your actual piece. Confirm it or ask for adjustments – nothing is finished until you are happy.
- Finish and deliver (about 2 weeks). The piece is oiled or lacquered, crated carefully and shipped directly to you with tracking. Plan on about 3-4 weeks in total.
Our promise
- Real materials. Solid hardwood such as walnut, oak, ash, acacia and monkeypod – never particle board.
- Honest timelines. Made-to-order pieces show their production time on every product page.
- Covered on arrival. If a piece arrives damaged or defective, tell us within 7 days and we repair, replace or refund it. See our return policy.
- A real person on email. Questions about size, wood tone or delivery access? We reply within one business day.
